Sabot's strength lies in understanding the creative process of film at all levels. To this end, we maintain a variety of different relationships with various individuals and companies within the film industry, utilizing their diverse skills and expertise to bring projects to fruition and their successful conclusion. This allows us to customize our approach to each project as needs require. It also enables us to approach a variety of budget models and handle them as tier requirements dictate.
We are currently developing a number of in house and outside partnered projects for feature film, series and reality television and so are no longer looking at queries. Our current projects are Drama, Thriller and Horror based.
Sabot works under the auspices of the Writer's Guild of Canada Independent Production Agreement 2003-2005.

It's a busy year for Steve Abbott and Sabot Productions. Steve has just optioned, "Every Second Counts," to Nathaniel Warsh at Macheby Pictures. They're currently in the round robin of rewrites to get it all ready for the US partners. There's a horror feature in the works with Ardent Pictures later in the year. Sabot helped out a little with Ardent's first drama feature which is currently in post production. We'll be exploring more HD production ourselves this year. Also in the works. Steve has penned a script for Narrow Edge Productions, Audrey Cumming's company, it's about to start its next round of rewrites. This has been a long time coming as both parties have been wanting to work together on something but time and schedules just haven't been permitting.
Steve's Canadian millitary drama feature set in Afghanistan written for Faranj Productions is currently doing the funding rounds in LA.
Wishbone Entertainment optioned, "Darkness," Steve's vampire story with a decidedly biotech twist. They liked it so much they commisioned him to write, "Killers," a deadly tale of cat and mouse between a hitman and a serial killer.
"The Provider," was our first short film. We shot it in black and white on a Canon GL1. It was written by Steve Abbott and directed by Bob Fugger. If you like the film, Sabot Productions will send you a copy for the cost of postage.
"The Terrible Old Man." is an H.P. Lovecraft adaptation written by Steve Abbott. TOM earned Steve a Leo nomination in the, "Best Short Drama Screenwriter," category.

No list could be complete without mentioning the madmen (very capable and dedicated madmen) of Science Friction, a talented duo of musicians who really know how to pull your cohones out of the fire when all looks like it is lost. They provided scoring for Bristlecone Films TNT presentation of, "Faces of Evil." See a clip from, "The Terrible Old Man," with their music here
Currently they are providing the score for Rob Feldman's animated series, "The Perils of Dr. Shroud." Remember a film without music is only half a film. Read more about the guys in a recent newspaper article here. Or you can visit them at MySpace. Read a recent interview with the guys on Indywood.co.uk here.
